Lesson 2 - Further Development of Google Sketch Up Skills

In today's lesson we are learning to:

• Know how to use tools and keyboard shortcuts in Google Sketchup.
• Understand the importance of measuring effectively in 3D graphics.
• Be able to create a 3D drawing from a 2D plan.

Tasks:

1. Get out your homework - Sketch the floor plan of the house that you are going to create. Using graph paper draw the floor plan and label it with measurements.
2. Open Google Sketchup - Using your graph paper 2D drawing, start to create your house. Do the dimensions that you have used work, or could they be improved? Make the changes to your 3D drawing and write them onto your 2D graph paper design.

Homework: 

Think about what the rest of your house and gardens will look like and sketch the design onto paper for next lesson.
