Lesson 4 - Setting up Dreamweaver

Look at this picture, what do you think it is, and what might it do? Write your answer on this wall.


In today's lesson:

  • We are learning about the different ways in which web pages can be created. Either using a type of code called HTML, or through a software program.
  • You are going to be able to create a root folder and a homepage using Adobe Dreamweaver.

Creating a webpage using HTML and Notepad:

  1. Log in and open Notepad by clicking Start, All programs, Accessories and then Notepad.
  2. Type in <html>BAND WEBSITE</html> in Notepad. 
  3. Save the file as band.html
  4. Close Notepad
  5. Then find the file and open it in a web browser window like Google Chrome.

Setting up a Dreamweaver Site:

  1. We are going to set up our websites now. 
  2. Open Dreamweaver by clicking on Start, All Programs, Adobe Creative Studio, and Dreamweaver.
  3. We shall follow my steps on the board. If you get stuck or left behind you can use this video to help you.
